The Master in Life Sciences – Analytische Chemie (Analytical Chemistry) develops skills for working with modern analytical methods to study and characterize complex biological systems. The program includes strategies for investigating and identifying metabolites, biomarkers, proteins, pharmaceutical formulations, and biological tissues. It focuses on mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy, and also covers structural analysis of proteins, characterization of solids, and imaging of biological systems.
Students complete a Master’s thesis that is stated as an eight-month project, often conducted in cooperation with industry partners. The program supports individual study planning through module choice, including additional modules from related areas such as organic chemistry, bioanalysis, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical technology. The program uses remote and in-person learning settings.
