Master in Life Sciences Angewandte Zellbiologie

The Master in Life Sciences – Applied Cell Biology prepares students for practice- and research-oriented work in applied cell biology. Students apply methods in the laboratory, from single-cell assays and complex microphysiological systems to automated cell culture, including high-content screening and tissue engineering.

Study mode includes part-time/while working and full-time options. Learning takes place through in-person and remote formats. The program is taught in English and has a total of 90 ECTS points, with a duration of 3 semesters in full-time and 6 semesters in part-time. It includes practical modules with project work in real laboratory contexts.

• Pharmaceutical research and development, including use in drug testing or development of new therapy approaches
• Biotechnological industry work, including support in producing biological products or building cell-based production systems
• Regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, including development and use of cell-based therapies
• Preclinical research and assay development, including establishment of test systems with mammalian cells as an alternative to animal testing (within the 3R principles: Replace, Refine, Reduce)
• Academic research institutions, contributing to projects in cell technology, molecular biology, or biomedical analytics
