The Master in Life Sciences – Umwelttechnologies leads to a Master of Science in Life Sciences. The programme focuses on environmental technology topics such as environmental risk assessment, protection of water resources, sustainable production with a focus on circular economy, resource efficiency, environmental process technology, waste management and technologies, and environmental remediation.
Students study in full-time or part-time/while working mode. The learning setting combines remote and on-campus teaching at FHNW Campus Muttenz (Hofackerstrasse 30, 4132 Muttenz). The programme includes a practice-oriented master’s thesis completed over eight months with an industry partner or at a university, plus training in research labs and at pilot facilities in the Process Technology Center (PTC).
A double degree option is available through partner universities. Alternatively, the master’s thesis can be completed abroad. The programme includes funded environmental risk assessment skills covering risk analysis, ecological evaluation, and environmental risk management, including how environmental pollutants spread and affect.
