The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Scholarships

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) offers AIT Scholarships to applicants for its Master’s and Doctoral degree programmes. The purpose is to increase the number of skilled international scientists, engineers, and managers needed to meet future challenges of the emerging Asian Economic Community region and beyond. A large number of no-bond AIT Scholarships are available for postgraduate programmes offered at AIT.

The scholarships apply to applicants for postgraduate programmes at AIT’s Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, Faculty of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Faculty of Climate Change and Sustainability, Faculty of Public Policy and Sustainable Development, and School of Management. The programme is available to students from all nationalities, and it is intended to help students from around the world study together at AIT.

Each Faculty/School has its Selection Committee. The Selection Committee proposes the value of the AIT Scholarships grant for each applicant (if eligible) for approval by the School Dean. The scholarship grant can only be awarded once before enrollment and cannot be changed during the entire study period.

Support is structured to subsidize part of the study cost by covering full or a portion of tuition fees only. Students are responsible for the remaining tuition, the registration fee of 20,000 Baht per semester to maintain student status, and living expenses of around 11,500–15,000 Baht per month.

• Must meet AIT’s English proficiency requirement: IELTS-Academic or AIT EET score of 5.0 or above for Master’s and 5.5 for Doctoral
• Must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
• For Ph.D. applicants: must have a master’s degree from a recognized university and a cumulative GPA of 3.50 in the master’s degree and 2.75 in the undergraduate programme from top universities

• Full or partial tuition fee coverage (qualified students), with the student responsible for the rest of the tuition
• Student pays registration fees: 20,000 Baht per semester to maintain student status
• Student pays living expenses: around 11,500–15,000 Baht per month
