Bachelor of Computer Science Gaming and Animation Technology

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Gaming and Animation Technology) at Gulu University focuses on design, development, and analysis of computer-based systems. Students build problem solving skills and study computer-based methods connected to digital effects and animations, including how these support industries that use films, television, advertising, and web content.

Teaching is organised over a 3-year programme with study time on weekdays. Admission is for the first year, and intakes are in August. Students follow a programme structure, with fees shown per semester, plus general charges and additional semester fees.

The programme is intended to prepare graduates to work in a highly dynamic environment, including the government sector, private sector, international organisations, NGOs, and global businesses.

Principal passes in any two of the following subjects: Mathematics, Economics, Entrepreneurship Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Geometrical and Building Drawing, Geometrical and Mechanical Drawing and Foods and Nutrition obtained at the same sitting.

Admission into the first year is through any of the three avenues, the Direct Entry Scheme, Mature Age Scheme and Diploma Holders Scheme.

• Direct Entry Scheme: Candidates must have obtained at least two principal passes at the same sitting in UACE in any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Technical Drawing and Food & Nutrition.
• Mature Age Scheme: Admission may also be via the Mature Age Entry Scheme, after the passing of two special Mature Age Entry Examinations of Gulu University, one in aptitude and the other in specialized knowledge.
• Diploma Holders Scheme: Candidates must have obtained a Credit Class diploma with at least a Credit Pass in Mathematics in the following: Uganda National Examinations Board Ordinary Technical Diploma, Diploma in Computer Science, Diploma in Information and Communication Technology or its equivalent.
• Higher Education Access Certificate: Candidates must have obtained: HEAC in Physics and Mathematics or Chemistry and Mathematics, Mathematics and Economics, Biology and Chemistry.
