Accounting and Finance (Cima Gateway) MSc

The University of Abertay Dundee MSc Accounting and Finance (CIMA Gateway) is a master’s designed with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Students build advanced management accounting and performance management, corporate finance and investment decision making, financial reporting and analysis in an international context, social, environmental and sustainability accounting, and research methods for accounting and finance.

Learning and assessment combine guest lectures, case-based teaching with international real-world business scenarios, lectures, seminars and tutorials, and group work and presentations. The programme includes an independent project or dissertation linked to career interests. Full-time runs for 12 months (September start) or 16 months (January start); part-time runs for 24 months (September start) or 28 months (January start).

Hold an undergraduate degree in accounting (or a related business degree with significant accounting content) and want to progress quickly towards CIMA.

• Are already working in finance or accounting and want a structured route into management accounting and strategic finance roles.
• Are aiming for roles such as management accountant, finance business partner, financial analyst or finance manager in the private, public or third sector.
• Want to study in a way that fits around work or other commitments, with options to study full-time or part-time.
