The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Safety Health and Environmental Management focuses on ecosystems, environmental health management, environmental science, environmental management, and related risk, law, and research topics. Students study modules such as Principles and Processes of Ecosystems, Introductory Statistics, Introductory Pollution Science, Introduction to water Resources, and Environmental Science I and II. The programme also includes Communication Skills and Citizenship Education & Conflict Transformation.
Learning is organised in four parts. Part I includes Laboratory Practice, Chemistry Foundations, Energy Resources Management, and Energy-related and environmental introductory modules. Part II covers Land Management and Conservation, GIS and Remote Sensing, Research Methods, Fire Protection, Environmental Law, Environmental Impact Assessment, Waste Management, and Environmental Management Systems. Part III includes a Research Project and Attachment. Part IV covers topics including Environmental Economics, Environmental Disaster Management, and specialised safety, health, and environment modules.
