Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Work

The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Work at Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University trains students in core areas of social work, including introduction to social work and social welfare, social work with groups, individuals, and communities, and topics such as ethics and values, deviation and social rehabilitation, and psychiatry and social pathology. Students also study related subjects such as sociology, psychology, social anthropology, and social psychology.

Teaching is organised by semesters and includes work related learning across both semesters, supported by a student report, an academic supervisor’s report on work related learning, and an employer’s report on work related learning. In later stages, students complete a dissertation and modules such as project monitoring and evaluation, administration and management of social welfare organisations, and integrated social work methods.
