Bachelor of Science Honours in Agriculture and Community Development

The Bachelor of Science Honours in Agriculture and Community Development at Africa University is an undergraduate, full-time program delivered from the Main Campus. It focuses on improving livelihoods and community development through training in agriculture, including agricultural productivity, agribusiness activities, and integrated production systems. Students study topics such as practical agriculture, soil science, agricultural economics, sociology, ecology, rural development, and agricultural processing and technology.

The program includes an industrial attachment component and a research project. It is structured with credit-bearing modules including Practical Aspects of Agriculture and Community Development, Animal Production, Crop Production, Agricultural Education and Extension, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development in Agriculture, Project Appraisal and Evaluation, and a Research Project. It includes Industrial Attachment I and Industrial Attachment II, plus an Industrial Attachment Report.

At least two GCE Advanced Level passes in Geography, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Management of Business, Accounts, Biology and Economics or a recognized relevant Diploma.

5 ‘O’ Level passes at grade ‘C’ or better including English Language and Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Pure Mathematics/ Applied Statistics.
