Master of Arts Degree in Church Leadership Ethics and Practical Ethics Ah27

The Master of Arts degree in Church Leadership, Ethics and Practical Ethics (AH27) at Midlands State University prepares learners to explore management philosophies and biblical hermeneutics. Students study leadership styles, ecclesiastical models, ethical theories, and leadership ethics grounded in the African ethic of Ubuntu. They also examine gender and organisational leadership.

The programme uses taught modules across two semesters at Level 1, followed by a dissertation at Level 2. Students complete modules in advanced research methods and theories, including interviews, observations, case studies, document analyses, and surveys. The programme includes project management, monitoring and evaluation, organisational politics and conflict management, and an applied ethics module on contemporary ethical problems in Zimbabwe, alongside elective modules in business, organisational, and communication ethics.

Normal Entry: A good honours degree, with at least 2.2, from a recognised university in any discipline

Equivalent qualifications for admission into the programme will be considered

Prospective candidates with two years post-qualification experience in their field, have an added advantage

• Employment in churches, non-profit organisations, businesses and various community setups as counsellors, lecturers, administrators or pastors
• Work in NGOs as gender activists, development partners, and counsellors
• Employment as Chaplains for the uniformed forces like the Prisons, Police, and Army
• Employment in welfare institutions as gender activists, HIV/AIDS counsellors and advisors
• Employment in colleges and universities as lecturers and in any other religious oriented fields
• PhD studies
