The Master of Arts Degree in Ethics and Human Development (AH26) equips students with skills and knowledge to support people with socioeconomic challenges. Study areas include Principles of Leadership Ethics, Family and Youth Development, Advanced Studies in Gender and Organisational Leadership, Ubuntu and Principles of Leadership, Gerontology, Advanced Research Methods and Statistics, Contemporary Ethical Problems in Zimbabwe, and Health and Well-being.
The programme is organised through taught modules across two levels, plus a dissertation. It includes modules on research methods, theories of human development, family and community services, organisational politics and conflict management, and applied ethical problems. Students also complete MAEHD 508 Dissertation based on a topic of their choice.
It is oriented around a multicultural approach that emphasises diversity and tolerance of other religions. Career opportunities include working in organisations such as preschools, addiction recovery centres, and government agencies, and careers in social work, senior citizen activism, or non-profit management.
