The Master of Science Degree in Computer Science at Midlands State University builds graduate-level understanding of miniaturized and computer-based systems, smart device technology, and emerging technologies. Students study advanced topics that include Pattern Recognition and Image Processing, Advanced Enterprise Architecture Programming, Advanced Database and Data Mining, Computational Discrete Mathematics, and Cyber Security and Cryptography. Research Methods supports the research process used in the programme.
Learning is organised by levels and semesters, with a dissertation at Level 2 Semester 1. Students take core modules across Level 1 Semester 1 and Semester 2, then choose electives in Level 1 Semester 2 from Software Methodology, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Computing, Real-Time Systems, Advanced Operating System Design, Advanced Data Structures and Algorithms, and Enterprise Computing in Java.
