The Master of Science Degree in Music (MMB) at Midlands State University equips students with theoretical and practical knowledge, analytical skills, and competencies in Applied Ethnomusicology, Music Composition, Music Business, Music Performance, and Music Technology. Students graduate with an MSc in the chosen specialization area.
Study lasts 18 months with an actual credit load of 270. Teaching uses lectures both face-to-face and online, music performance activities, seminars, group work, research projects, independent study, and guest seminars and talks from visiting music practitioners. Assessment includes continuous written and practical assignments, field reports, and seminar presentations, plus practical and written examinations.
