Tianjin University Offers Scholarships for Chemical Engineering and Technology

Tianjin University Scholarship for Chemical Engineering and Technology Program is set by the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology to support prospective international students in the bachelor program of Chemical Engineering and Technology. Support lasts for four years, with annual review to determine eligibility for next-year support. • Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.
• For applicants who used to be Chinese citizens but later immigrated to other countries, the conditions set by Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China should be met.
• Applicant must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25.
• Applicants who are still under the age of 18 at the stated cutoff date must submit the original guardian certificate issued by the Tianjin District Notary Office.
• The guardian must be a permanent resident of Tianjin.
• Applicants should be in good health and of good character, be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China’s laws and regulations, as well as the university rules.
• Students are required to submit English Proficiency Certificates.
• IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 is mandatory.
• Native English speakers are exempted from providing relevant certificates.

• For the Full scholarship: Tuition subsidy of 20000 RMB/year.
• For the Full scholarship: Living allowance of 1400 RMB/month for 10 months/year.
• For the Partial scholarship: Tuition subsidy of 20000 RMB/year.

1. Take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) Test organized by the China Scholarship Council on behalf of the Ministry of Education of China and obtain the score report.
2. Complete and submit the online application on the International Student Service System (ISSS) (tju.at0086.cn/student) according to the application schedule, including filling in application information, uploading application documents, and filling in and signing the relevant application form before uploading a scanned copy to the “Others” section.
3. After university review, participate in the interview stage.
4. After checking the admission result, admitted students must pre-pay a deposit of 7,000 RMB and an application fee of 420 RMB within the university’s stipulated deadline to receive the electronic “Admission Notice” and “Visa Application for Study in China.”

• Scan of original high school diploma or original notarized diploma; scan of a pre-graduation certificate if the applicant has not gained a degree certificate before the application deadline; original high school diploma or original notarized diploma to be resubmitted before registration.
• Scan of notarized copy of the high school academic transcripts or scan of international standardization test results (such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB etc.).
• Scan of China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) transcript.
• Photocopy of passport within the validity period after the stated cutoff date.
• Proof of English proficiency (specific requirements refer to “Qualification of Applicants”).
• Study and Work Experience Resume since High School to present, with uninterrupted start and end times and education level starting from senior high school.
• Study plan (600 words at least).
• Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (medical examinations must cover all listed items and should be conducted after the stated cutoff date).
• For applicants now in China: scan of visa photocopy; a certificate showing good record of conduct and performance in the applicant’s school; if studying at a university in China, scan of the Certificate of Withdrawal from present university.
• Scan of Certificate of Non-Criminal Records, valid within six months prior to the application date; fresh high school graduates must submit a certificate showing good record of conduct and performance in their school.
• Certificate of Bank Saving or Income Certificate of Financial Guarantor.
• For applicants under the age of 18 at the stated cutoff date: original guardian certificate.
• Other attachments (such as Certificate of award etc.).
