Kognitionswissenschaft

Kognitionswissenschaft is a Bachelor program taught at Universität Potsdam, Germany. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Kognitionswissenschaft at Universität Potsdam is a Bachelor of Science Ein-Fach-Bachelor focused on theories of mental operations and how the brain functions. Students learn theories and methods across the interdisciplinary study of mind and brain, using psychological and psycholinguistic experiments linked with data science, computer science, and mathematics. The degree includes module work such as Einführung in die Kognitionswissenschaft, Allgemeine Psychologie I, Allgemeine Psychologie II, and Einführung in die Psycholinguistik.

The program is modular and totals 180 Leistungspunkte. Pflichtmodule include Einführung in die mathematische Modellierung kognitiver Prozesse, plus the program includes an Empirisch-experimentelles Praktikum and a Bachelorarbeit. Students also complete a Wahlpflichtbereich with selected modules and Pflicht competence modules covering statistics and programming kognitionswissenschaftlicher Experimente.

Universität Potsdam states that graduates can take up employment or continue in a Masterstudiengang of Kognitions- und Neurowissenschaften and related fields.
