Introduction

Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence is a Bachelor program taught at Raffles University, Malaysia. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence at Raffles University is designed to prepare AI practitioners who can apply fundamental knowledge in mathematics, logic, and theoretical AI to analyse, model, design, develop, and evaluate AI solutions. Students study areas including neural networks, computer vision, and natural language processing, with modules such as Discrete Mathematics, Statistics for Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning Fundamentals, Applied Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.

Learning is structured over 3 years with a credit total of 120 credit hours. The programme includes real-world projects through an exclusive industry network, and it includes a presentation showcase, a patented project, and awards and competition. In Year 3, students take Project I, Project II, and Professional Attachment, alongside topics such as Parallel and Distributed Computing and Deep Neural Network Architectures.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence at Raffles University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

STPM (Science Stream): Pass with Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics subject and ONE Science / ICT subject
STPM (Arts Stream): Pass with Grade C in any 2 subjects AND (a)
A Level: Full Pass in 2 subjects AND (a)
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and One Science / ICT subject
STAM: Pass with minimum grade of Jayyid in any 2 subjects AND (a)
Matriculation/ Foundation: min CGPA 2.0 AND (a)
Diploma in Science and Technology: min. CGPA of 2.75. Candidate with CGPA 2.50 to 2.75 can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment AND (a)
Diploma in Computing fields (MQF Level 4): Pass with minimum CGPA of 2.50. CGPA 2.00 to 2.50 can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment
Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Computing fields: minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval
Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

(a) Additional Requirement

Credit in Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent OR
Credit in Mathematics and any one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects at SPM level or its equivalent. Candidates need to pass the Reinforcement Mathematics equivalent to Additional Mathematics at the SPM level. The subject must be offered in first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer. [not applicable to International Candidates]
