Introduction

Bachelor in Data Science (Honours) is a Bachelor program taught at Raffles University, Malaysia. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Bachelor in Data Science (Honours) at Raffles University is designed to cultivate data scientists with skills in advanced statistical analysis and its applications. Students study topics including neural networks and data mining, plus Stochastic Analysis, Bayesian Statistics, Experimental Design, Data Analytics, and Time Series Analysis and Forecasting.

The programme has a length of 3 Years and includes Project I and Project II, plus a Professional Attachment. Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor in Data Science (Honours) at Raffles University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

Entry Requirements (Bachelor in Data Science (Honours)):

STPM (Science Stream): Pass with grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics subject and ONE Science / ICT subject
STPM (Arts Stream): Pass with grade C in any 2 subjects AND (a)
A Level: Full Pass in 2 subjects AND (a)
UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and ONE Science / ICT subject
STAM: Pass with minimum grade of Jayyid in any 2 subjects AND (a)
Matriculation/ Foundation: min CGPA 2.0 AND (a)
Diploma in Science and Technology: min. CGPA of 2.75. Candidate with CGPA 2.50 to 2.75 can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment AND (a)
Diploma in Computing fields (MQF Level 4): Pass with minimum CGPA of 2.50. CGPA 2.00 to 2.50 can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment
Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Computing fields: minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval
Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

(a) Additional Requirement: Credit in Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent OR Credit in Mathematics and any one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subjects at SPM level or its equivalent. Candidates need to take and pass the reinforcement Mathematics equivalent to Additional Mathematics at the SPM level. The subject must be offered in first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer. [Not Applicable to International Candidates]
