Bachelor's in Engineering Physics Major
Introduction
Engineering Physics Major is a Bachelor program taught at Ambassador University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Engineering Physics Major at Ambassador University is a Bachelor of Science program in Engineering Physics. Students study core courses in math, physics, and chemistry, then move into advanced topics in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, electronics, and modern physics. The program also includes quantum mechanics, advanced electromagnetism, and thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, alongside engineering practice and design.
Learning includes a Summer Field Session and a Capstone Design sequence culminating in a senior thesis. Students complete the Summer Field Session before the start of junior year and gain hands-on experience with lab instrumentation, machining and manual lathe, CNC basics, vacuum technology, materials preparation, instrumentation using LabVIEW and motor control, vacuum and ion-pump experiments, and computational tools including Python and vector graphics. The senior capstone is described as a two-semester sequence connecting to a multidisciplinary, client-driven Capstone Design.
Graduates pursue a range of career paths in fields the program describes, including aerospace engineering, biomedical science, computational modeling of physical systems, device manufacturing and semiconductor processing, geophysics, materials development, nanotechnology, nuclear science and engineering, and renewable and conventional energy industries. More than half of seniors are described as pursuing graduate studies in physics or a closely related field of engineering.
