Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Major
Introduction
Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Major is a Bachelor program taught at Ambassador University, USA. Intake: Fall. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Mines provides a broad foundation in materials engineering focused on metals and alloys. You connect material structure, processing, properties, and performance across material classes, and you build deeper expertise in physical and extractive metallurgy, plus welding and joining. The curriculum also includes related understanding of polymers, composites, and other advanced materials.
Instruction includes core coursework in thermodynamics, extractive metallurgy, physical metallurgy, welding and joining, mechanical behavior, and materials processing. You manipulate microstructure to achieve specific properties and use advanced characterization techniques such as electron microscopy. Experimental laboratory work is combined with computational modeling. All MME students complete a summer field session, including training in department laboratory facilities and industry tours.
