Introduction

Quantitative Biosciences and Engineering Major is a Bachelor program taught at Ambassador University, USA. Intake: Fall. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Quantitative Biosciences and Engineering Major is a Bachelor of Science at Colorado School of Mines. It combines biology, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, and engineering to study how genes, cells, and organisms function and to design technologies for health, energy, and the environment. Coursework includes a focus on bioinformatics and computational biology, gene editing and synthetic biology, tissue engineering, and environmental biology.

Students complete a quantitative skills core that includes the general Mines core curriculum plus additional required courses in quantitative bioscience and engineering. Lab courses provide hands-on experience with advanced molecular biology techniques, including PCR and CRISPR-Cas9. The program also includes approved stream biology electives and pre-med, ecology systems, and molecular biology electives, plus minor options such as biomedical engineering, biomechanical engineering, and data science.

The program includes research opportunities with multiple research labs across campus and supports independent study through programs such as the Mines Undergraduate Research Fellowship and First-Year Innovation and Research Scholar Training. A combined 4+1 BS/MS program allows students to earn a master’s while completing the bachelor’s.
