Introduction

Accounting, B.S. is a Bachelor program taught at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Accounting B.S. program focuses on the systematic process of recording, analyzing, and reporting financial transactions. Students study how accurate financial records (income, expenses, assets, and liabilities) support financial statements, decision-making by management, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders, and legal compliance. The program is designed to build skills in financial management, strategic planning, and analysis for leadership in business.

Learning includes a comprehensive accounting practicum that combines academic study with practical experience in the field. Students are matched with a host organization, learn how it functions, and use writing and oral presentations, roundtable discussions, weekly summary reports, and in-person work at the host location to apply accounting knowledge and skills. Host organizations include Northrop Grumman, Leonardo DRS, L3Harris Technologies Inc., Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Space Coast Credit Union, and Health First.

The degree also includes accounting internships that place students with experts at CPA firms, high-tech companies, governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, and service or industrial companies. Internship examples include Berman Hopkins CPAs & Associates, LLP, Brevard County Government, Flavin, Nooney & Person, CPA Wealth Advisors, Merrill, Northrop Grumman Corp., RSM US LLP, and State Farm Insurance. The program offers accelerated options to complete the degree in a reduced timeframe compared with a standard-paced approach.
