Introduction

Mathematics is a Bachelor program taught at Occidental College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Mathematics undergraduate program at Occidental College prepares you for advanced problem-solving through study of calculus, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, and analysis. You build skills in writing proofs, analyzing data, and communicating complex ideas clearly. Coursework can also include number theory, linear algebra, and ordinary differential equations, along with options such as game theory, population growth models, network analysis, and cryptography.

Learning connects abstract theory with real-world problems. You work with data, models, and quantitative evidence, and you communicate to technical and nontechnical audiences. The program includes research opportunities with faculty on campus and beyond, including projects in topology, combinatorics, numerical analysis, and applied math, participation in summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs), and presentation at undergraduate math conferences or campus research events.
