Engineering Technology Design
Introduction
Engineering Technology Design is a program taught at Sinclair Community College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Engineering Technology Design at Sinclair Community College focuses on Engineering University Transfer coursework through calculus-based classes in statics, thermodynamics, and strength of materials. Students study topics such as vectorial treatment of forces and moments, analysis of trusses and frames, internal shear and moment for beams, and thermodynamic properties of gases, vapors, and gas-vapor mixtures. The program also includes dynamics for engineers.
Courses are delivered with a mix of classroom and lab hours each week. Statics for Engineers uses two classroom and three lab hours per week, while Thermodynamics for Engineers uses two classroom and two lab hours per week. Strength of Materials for Engineers uses one classroom and four lab hours per week, and Dynamics for Engineers uses two classroom and two lab hours per week. Mechanical Engineering Internship supports work learning experience credits, with students setting learning outcomes and preparing related reports and/or projects each term.
This program is designed for Engineering University Transfer students. It includes Special Topics with varied content that may be scheduled in a classroom or seminar setting, or delivered in a nontraditional format.
