Studio Arts
Introduction
Studio Arts is a Bachelor program taught at Trinity College (CT), USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Studio Arts program at Trinity College (CT) offers a studio-based curriculum within a liberal arts environment. Students study primary media, learn to identify and define content, and gain a grounding in the history of art. The program emphasizes personal growth and introspection alongside technical mastery through experimentation and innovation.
Courses are structured with a strong studio component. Students can explore new technologies as well as classical media, and as they advance through the major they work in their own studio space. The CCAN Art Gallery hosts student exhibits and Senior Thesis exhibitions, and the program also oversees the Widener Gallery in the Austin Arts Center. Students can attend organized visits to galleries and museums in New York City, and they may meet with a designated study abroad advisor to choose a program compatible with the major.
Recent graduates may apply for the Fifth Year Fellowship. Fellows receive a stipend and remain at Trinity during the academic year following graduation to manage the CCAN Art Gallery, mentor Studio Arts students, and assist the Fine Arts technician. They are provided with a studio space on campus and are encouraged to build a body of work beyond their senior thesis and apply to graduate school.
