Doctoral Programme in Business and Technology Management

The Doctoral Programme in Business and Technology Management develops research skills, expertise in industrial engineering and management, and an in-depth understanding of information and knowledge management. It covers research in industrial engineering and management and in information and knowledge management, with focus areas in innovations, operations, and information.

The programme is organised as doctoral study with a personal research and study plan made with the responsible supervisor. Full-time students are expected to complete the programme in four years. To finish, students complete the required doctoral studies, show independent and critical thinking in their field, and write and defend a doctoral dissertation in public.

Tampere University says the programme is intended for applicants with a master's degree in technology, economics or an applicable field. Graduates receive the degree of Doctor of Science in Technology or Doctor of Philosophy.
