Psychology of Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing, Master of Sport Sciences

The Master's Degree Programme in Psychology of Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing (PsyAct) is a research and practice-oriented master's degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology. It focuses on the systematic application of behaviour change theory and methods to design, implement and evaluate interventions in physical activity promotion and sport performance enhancement.

Students study how to address physical activity and health challenges and how to support the translation of evidence into practice across disciplines and sectors. The programme includes a practicum period in sport and health facilities, private companies, sport academies, or training centres.

University of Jyväskylä says the programme prepares students for work in the private and public sectors and for doctoral study.
