Security Governance, Security Management and Politics, Master of Administrative Sciences

Tampere University’s Master’s Programme in Security Governance, Security Management and Politics is based on administrative science and international politics. It covers security management and governance, strategic issues, geopolitics, and the cross-boundary, cross-sectoral and hybridised nature of domestic and international security domains.

The studies consist of joint programme studies, advanced studies in Security Management and International Security, and elective studies in a chosen area agreed with the academic staff. All students take part in a master’s thesis seminar and prepare a master’s thesis under supervision.

The programme is a two-year, 120 ECTS full-time master’s degree. Students may choose elective studies to direct their expertise towards a career path or field of interest. The programme also gives access to doctoral studies in social and administrative sciences.
