Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) offered by Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP), under Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), is a course that prepares students for work in occupational therapy settings. The program supports clinical exposure through access to hospital facilities affiliated to Kasturba Hospital, a multi-specialty hospital. Graduates can pursue careers in paediatric, psychiatric, orthopaedic, and neurological rehabilitation.

The BOT course includes 4 years of academic study, followed by a 1-year internship. Students have access to laboratories for practical experience and facilities that include healthcare access, libraries with publications on allied healthcare, and an Innovation Centre for multi-disciplinary research. The program also highlights sports and fitness facilities and student hostels.

BOT job opportunities extend across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, special schools, industrial medical facilities, de-addiction centres, educational institutions, geriatric centres, NGOs, and private practice.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as subjects, and must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

• The merit list is prepared with 50% weightage given to the MET score and 50% weightage given to 10+2 marks.
