Organizational Context:

Embedded in the vast framework of UNHCR’s Private Sector Partnership Service (PSP), a pivotal role is played in fostering the ever-expanding global collaboration with the private sector. This extensive network operates seamlessly across continents – Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. Within the overarching umbrella of PSP, the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy Section (PPH) actively engages with a diverse array, encompassing corporations, private foundations, and individual philanthropists.

Zooming in on PPH, a strategic hub emerges – the Corporate and Shared Value Partnerships Unit. This unit, strategically positioned in both Geneva and Copenhagen, assumes the crucial responsibility of developing and bolstering UNHCR’s fundraising network on a global scale. The primary objective is clear: forge partnerships with companies that transcend mere financial contributions. Instead, these partnerships are designed to amplify fundraising efforts, champion refugees’ rights, propel economic and financial inclusion, and enhance refugees’ access to essential products and services.

The Position:

In this dynamic organizational landscape, the Communications and Knowledge Management Intern will play a vital role. The focus is on contributing to the formulation and execution of the team’s content strategy. This involves a keen emphasis on fortifying online and print communications, elevating brand awareness, and fostering public engagement. The scope extends to internal communication channels, disseminating corporate guidance to both PSP and non-PSP networks, as well as tailoring products for corporate audiences.

This strategic content support is instrumental in empowering private-sector fundraisers to nurture, expand, and fortify existing partnerships. Reporting to the Senior Corporate and Shared Value Partnerships Coordinator within the Corporate & Shared Value Partnership team, the intern will collaborate closely with colleagues across various teams, including PPH Private Sector Engagement and Global Communications. This collaboration extends to key stakeholders in DER, encompassing units such as Crisis Communications and Brands. The intern’s role thus becomes an integral thread in the broader tapestry of UNHCR’s impactful initiatives.
