Diploma in Medical Assistant

The Diploma in Medical Assistant at Murni Nursing College is a Diploma in Medical and Health Science that prepares students to practise as a medical assistant or assistant medical officer. Teaching and learning focuses on knowledge, skills, and attitudes, including human body system functions such as the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, and related cellular and molecular aspects of normal and diseased body.

The programme includes theory and practical studies across semesters, plus clinical practice in hospitals and health clinics. Students study modules such as Anatomy & Fisiology 1&2, Microbiology & Parasitology, Medicine 1 and 2, Surgery 1 and 2, Emergency Medicine 1 and 2, and clinical practice modules such as Practice Medicine, Practice Surgery, Practice Operation Theatre, and Practice Orthopaedic.

Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with a minimum 5 (five) credits in the following subjects:

• Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia
• Science Subjects: Biology or Chemistry, OR Physics with a Pass in Biology, OR General Science
• Mathematics: Mathematics, OR Additional Mathematics
• TWO (2) credits from any other subjects (preference is given to candidates with credit in subjects from A&B) AND
• Pass in English (preference to be given to those with credit in English)
