The PhD (Business Administration) at Asia e University prepares candidates for academic careers and highly specialised scholarly research, in theory and application. The programme focuses on developing new theory in management, public administration, consulting, economics, and other related business fields. Learning outcomes include producing original doctoral-level research and making informed judgments on complex issues in specialised business fields.

Learning follows a four-stage structure: proposal development, data collection, report writing, and thesis examination/viva voce. Students can study in full-time, part-time, fully online, or blended learning modes. Research workshops and research colloquia are optional and run once a month on Saturday and Sunday. The programme includes viva voce for international students conducted on-campus or off-campus via video conferencing.

For Malaysian and International students: A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate, subject to having relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment; OR A Master’s degree (Level7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) recognised by the Malaysian Government.

No proposal is needed at the point of entry. Only brief research intent. Transfer of candidature is possible, if compliant-requirements are fulfilled.

ELCR Band (International Students Only): Achieve a minimum Band 4 in MUET OR equivalent to CEFR (Mid B2).
