Master in Islamic Banking and Finance

The Master in Islamic Banking and Finance at Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (UniSHAMS) covers theory, practical application, and research related to Islamic financial systems. Students study Islamic banking operations, financial management, Islamic investment, risk management, takaful, Shariah governance, and financial analysis, with an emphasis on Shariah values, professional ethics, and research skills.

Study combines coursework and dissertation under a mixed mode. The program is offered as full time and part time, with full-time duration of 2-4 years and part-time duration of 2-6 years. It is designed for graduates and professionals who want to strengthen expertise in Islamic finance and banking through academic and professional approaches, including independent research and development of communication, digital technology, numeracy, and teamwork skills.

• Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) in a related field with minimum CGPA 2.75 as accepted by the University Senate
• OR Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) in a related field with minimum CGPA 2.50 and not meeting 2.75 may be accepted, subject to strict internal evaluation
• OR Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) in a related field with minimum CGPA 2.00 and not meeting 2.50 may be accepted, subject to at least FIVE (5) years relevant work experience and strict internal evaluation
• OR Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) in an unrelated field with minimum CGPA 2.50 as accepted by the University Senate, subject to relevant work experience and strict internal evaluation
• OR Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) in an unrelated field with minimum CGPA 2.00 and not meeting 2.50 as accepted by the University Senate, subject to at least FIVE (5) years relevant work experience and strict internal evaluation
• OR Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) in an unrelated field with minimum CGPA 2.00 as accepted by the University Senate and without relevant work experience, subject to passing prerequisite courses
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelors Degree (Level 6, MQF) recognized by the Malaysian Government
