Scholarship Coverage
The Prince of Songkla University PhD Scholarships provide comprehensive support, including:
- A monthly allowance of 10,000 Baht (approximately 300 US$) to cover housing and living expenses.
- Full tuition fee coverage.
- A travel allowance to and from your home country at the beginning and end of the scholarship term, totaling no more than 15,000 Baht (around 450 US$).
- Health and accident insurance coverage during your scholarship period in Thailand, amounting to 90 US$.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Prince of Songkla University PhD Scholarships, applicants must meet these requirements:
- Required Language: English
- Eligible Countries: All countries worldwide
- Good academic record and research experience.
- Eligibility is limited to new graduate students starting their studies at PSU in semester 1 or 2.
- The previous degree must match the program’s curriculum requirements.
- Applicants should not be recipients of other scholarships covering living expenses during the same period.
- Applicants must pass an officially recognized English examination with one of the following scores:
- PSU-TEP Score of 60 or CU-TEP score of 60
- TOEFL (Paper Based) minimum score of 500 or (Revised paper delivered test) minimum score of 46 or (Institutional testing program) minimum score of 520 or (Computer Based) minimum score of 173 or (Internet Based) minimum score of 61
- IELTS Score of 5.0.
- Scholars must enroll as full-time students with a Non-immigrant “ED visa (Study Permit).” Those entering Thailand on a tourist visa cannot enroll and may have their scholarship canceled.
- Scholars are expected to complete their study and research thesis within the stipulated time frame.
- Progress reports on the study must be submitted every 6 months.
- Scholars must pass the proposal examination in the third semester.
- To fulfill scholarship requirements, scholars must publish their dissertation in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals indexed in Web of Science (with ISI impact factor), with a minimum of two publications. They must also adhere to the graduate requirements of each graduate program.
- Once accepted into a specific program of study, scholars are expected to complete their studies in that program and cannot change to a different one.
- Lack of progress on the study or thesis without valid reasons may result in scholarship termination.
