Bachelor of Data Science

The Bachelor of Data Science at Amoud University trains students in the interdisciplinary field of data science, focusing on collecting, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets to produce useful insights. Students learn programming languages such as Python and R, statistical tools, and data-driven technologies. The program includes foundational courses in the first year and advances to specialized data science topics including machine learning, cloud computing, big data analytics, and project management. The course structure spans four years over eight semesters with examinations, coursework, a substantial project, and a required 300-hour internship in a professional setting. It prepares graduates to become data science experts suited for industries like healthcare, finance, marketing, and policy-making, particularly addressing gaps in Africa's skilled workforce.

Applicants must hold a Somaliland GCSE of at least Grade “C”, or its equivalent from a recognized examination body, and successfully complete a one-year freshman programme at Amoud University with a GPA of at least 2.00. Additional conditions may be specified by the Faculty of Computing.
