Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Bit

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BIT) at Amoud University prepares students with technical knowledge for careers as database programmers, web developers, and IT support specialists. The programme integrates problem solving and critical thinking skills related to the IT sector's demands in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa. It covers fundamental IT disciplines such as programming, networking, human-computer interaction, databases, and web systems, with an emphasis on information assurance, security, and professionalism. The programme spans eight semesters over four academic years, with coursework, exams, projects, and at least 300 hours of internship experience in real work environments. Students complete foundational courses in English, mathematics, and science during the first year, advancing to specialized IT subjects including database management, programming languages, network design, and cyber security. A final project is required in the senior year. This programme targets students who seek to enter or advance in the IT sector with skills aligned to industry and regional technological needs. It aims to develop professionals capable of addressing business problems with IT solutions and leading technology-driven initiatives.
