Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering Agricultural Engineering

The Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering in Agricultural Engineering at the Open University of Sri Lanka is an undergraduate programme in the Agricultural Engineering discipline. The programme focuses on engineering subjects connected to agriculture, including Engineering Mechanics, Crop Technology, Postharvest Engineering and Technology, Designing Agricultural Machine Elements, Design and Management of Irrigation and Drainage, Surveying, Workshop Practice, Economics and Marketing for Engineers, Soil Management Tillage and Traction, Crop Processing, Farm Power and Mechanization, Agricultural Hydrology, Precision Agriculture, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Food Engineering.

Learning is delivered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL). Student learning is supported by carefully prepared printed course materials for self-learning. Printed materials are supplemented with audio, visual, and online learning material. The Faculty of Engineering Technology calls for applications for the academic year/26, with admissions in September.

• Obtained passes in the subjects, Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination, Sri Lanka, in one & the same sitting, or
• Obtained the Advanced Certificate in Science with courses in the disciplines of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, offered by The OUSL, or
• Obtained a minimum three (3) credit (C) passes for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Cambridge/Edexcel Advanced Level Examination within three years, or
• Obtained an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate.
