Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering Textile Clothing

The Open University of Sri Lanka offers a Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering – Textile & Clothing (BSc(Eng)) for people working in the textile and clothing industry. The programme aims to provide in-depth knowledge and skills for employees at junior manager level and technical grades within engineering, with an opportunity to upgrade management skills for senior manager roles.

Teaching uses distance mode with limited face to face sessions, interactive learning sessions, and laboratory work. Students use printed course materials and online teaching (where available). The programme runs on English medium instruction and covers engineering learning outcomes focused on analysis, investigation, design, tools, professional practice issues, communication, and management and business practices.

Admission requires passes in the subjects Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination, Sri Lanka, in one & the same sitting, or an Advanced Certificate in Science with courses in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry offered by The OUSL, or a minimum three (3) credit (C) passes for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Cambridge/Edexcel Advanced Level Examination within three years, or an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate. Students enter the programme with GCE (A/L) qualification for a minimum duration of 4 years.

Students entering with NDT qualification can complete within a minimum of two years.
