Bachelor of Software Engineering Honours

The Bachelor of Software Engineering Honours (BSEHons) is an undergraduate software engineering degree. It focuses on the design, construction, and implementation of large, complex software systems that address information processing challenges under constraints such as cost, time, and risk management. Students complete core units in computer science, programming, software engineering, mathematics, and Quality Assurance and Testing, with emphasis on communication skills.

Delivery uses a technology-supported distance model with a Learner Management System for learning materials and activities. Tutorial support is provided through discussion forums and other LMS facilities, with dedicated tutorial support staff coordinating small groups and giving individual assistance when required. Study is delivered online mostly except for Final Examinations, and on-site activities may be arranged at selected Regional Centers.

Admission entry is at SLQF L3. Applicants need passes in any three subjects at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) excluding General English and General Information Technology subjects, OR Minimum “D” passes in any 3 subjects in Cambridge/Edexcel Advanced Level examination, OR Pass the Advanced Certificate programme in Science or Apparel Technology or Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management offered from OUSL, OR Any other equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate. AND Passing the Selection Test.
