Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health

The Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Mbarara University of Science and Technology is an advanced diploma for students who want to work in child and adolescent mental health. The programme requires evidence of special interest and/or prior experience working with children and adolescents.

Students complete clinical work with children at their workplace on a weekly basis throughout the programme. The course is full-time and has a duration of 2 years.

• Degree or Diploma in Health Science, Social Sciences, Education or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Evidence of a special interest and/or prior experience of working with children and adolescents.
• The trainee must be able to commit time to study and to undertake clinical work with children on a weekly basis at their workplace throughout the programme.
• They should demonstrate basic Information Technology skills such as use of email,Microsoft word and Microsoft excel.
