Graduate Certificate in Education

The International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (iPGCE) at the University of Greenwich is a global teacher education qualification for practitioners with two or more years of teaching experience. It is designed to develop teaching skills and knowledge for teaching in an early years, primary, secondary, or equivalent educational context, with a focus on working with a diverse student body. Students develop professional competency through critical reflection and research in a national and global context.

University of Greenwich delivers the iPGCE online and models how teaching practice can integrate digital technology. In a typical week, learning takes place through lectures and seminars, with smaller group sessions to discuss and develop understanding. Contact hours may fall between 9am and 9pm, depending on elective courses and tutorials. Students complete independent learning and are assessed through group work, presentations, evaluation tasks, self-reflective essays, and research study, including time spent at least eight hours a week outside timetabled sessions.

An undergraduate (honours) degree at 2:2, or above.

Applicants will need to be teaching in an international school, this can be voluntary or paid but they will need to be working with an employer for the duration of a programme.
