Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours

The Bachelor of Accounting Science Honours focuses on the analysis of managers’ financial reporting and disclosure strategies. It examines how these strategies affect firms’ equity values and contracts, and it studies the institutional settings and economic contexts in which managers make reporting and disclosure choices. The course also emphasizes advanced financial statement analysis skills across business decision contexts.

The qualification aims to build competence in advanced accounting and reporting functions, costing and management accounting functions, taxation services, and management advisory services on a routine basis. It also develops financial management functions alongside management advisory services. The programme is offered over a period of four years on a full time basis.

Applicants can be considered for admission under two different provisions indicated below:

• Applicants should have a minimum of 5 ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Mathematics with a grade C or better and at least 2 ‘A’ level passes which include at least two commercial subjects.
• OR Candidates should have a minimum of 5 ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Mathematics and minimum of a National Diploma in a finance related qualification or hold an approved accountancy diploma e.g. Institute of Chartered Secretaries (CIS), Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and Higher National Diploma (HND).
