The Bachelor of Science Honours in Artificial Intelligence at Africa University is an undergraduate full-time program in the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Computer Science. It covers fundamentals and applications such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Machine Learning, machine learning mathematics, programming for machine learning, operating systems, digital electronics, and communication skills. It also includes Human AI Interactions, Expert Systems and Smart Applications, and areas such as intelligent systems for pattern recognition, optimization, and algorithms and data structures.
Programme structure includes core computer science modules and additional themes, plus later research and applied work. Modules include Object oriented programming, Software Engineering, Computer architecture and Organization, Data communication and Computer Networks, Ethics and Christian Values, Theory of computing, Group Project, Image Processing, Deep Learning, Network Security, Research Methods and Report Writing, Database Systems, Parallel and Distributed Computing, and an Industrial Attachment with continuous assessment and a report. The program ends with Capstone Project, Robotics, Computational Neuroscience, Recommender Systems, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, Internet of Things, and Semantic Web & Ontological Modelling.
