Bachelor of Science Honours in Nursing

Africa University offers a Post-Basic Bachelor of Science Honours in Nursing for Registered nurses. The programme aims to prepare students to provide quality nursing care in hospitals and communities across preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative levels. Students study nursing foundations and disease-focused modules, plus health law, ethics and Christian values, health services management, and a research project.

Learning mode is full time at the Main Campus. The curriculum includes topics such as communicable and non-communicable diseases, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, epidemiology, biostatistics and health informatics, and nursing education. Language and study support modules include Introduction to Information Technology, French for Beginners, Portuguese for Beginners I, English as a Second Language I, and English as a Second Language I-based communication and counseling skills. A research project is part of the structure.

• A Diploma in Nursing and a minimum of two years’ work experience.
• Must be registered to practice as a nurse by the Nurses Council or appropriate Health Professions Board.
• All international applicants must be registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe before commencing studies.
• 5 ‘O’ Level passes at grade ‘C’ or better inclusing English Language, Mathematics and Biology at ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level or equivalent.
