Diploma in Science Education Mathematics and Geography 3 Years

The Diploma in Science Education Mathematics and Geography builds competences for producing teaching and learning in Mathematics and Geography at Ordinary Secondary School Level. Students align Mathematics and Geography teaching with STEM-related subjects for socio-economic development of Zimbabwe and beyond. The programme also develops competences to adapt to trends in Mathematics and Geography education.

The qualification is a three-year programme. It is structured across three parts and includes communication skills, computer skills, educational foundations, curriculum study, educational media and technology, and research methods. Students study subject modules such as algebra, calculus, geometry and trigonometry, mechanics, statistics, geometry-related topics, and multiple geography modules. It includes pre-practicum and teaching practice, plus a project.

Normal Entry

• To be admitted to the diploma, an applicant must normally have at least five ‘O’ levels passes including a Science subject, Mathematics, Geography and English Language.
