Diploma in Science Education Sciences Dipsced Sc

The Diploma in Science Education-Sciences (DipScEd-Sc) develops competences to produce high quality work in sciences and in combined science teaching across all secondary school levels. It supports students to align their teaching and learning to STEM related subjects for socio-economic development of Zimbabwe and beyond, while building competences to adapt to trends and research driven practices in science education.

The programme is organised into three levels with semesters and named modules in communication, computing, education foundations, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, curriculum study, education media and technology, pedagogy, research methods, and science-specific topics. It also includes teaching practice and a project, plus modules on trends in science education and conflict transformation.

To be eligible for admission, a candidate must:

• Normal entry: have passed five ‘O’ Levels including English Language, Mathematics and a science subject with biology, physics and chemistry components.
• Special Entry: A relevant Diploma or certificate
