Master in Intellectual Property

The Master in Intellectual Property is a postgraduate programme at Africa University’s Department of Public Law. It focuses on the management and protection of intellectual property rights, including protection of copyright, patents, and trademarks connected to cultural and industrial creations and inventions.

• A second class honours degree of Africa University OR
• A qualification from another institution of higher learning deemed by the GSC to be equivalent to a Second Class Honours degree of Africa University.
• A minimum of two years of work experience is recommended.

• Successful completion of a minimum of two years of study at a University where English is the language of instruction.
• Successful completion of a minimum of four years study at a secondary school where (a) English is the language of instruction and (b) a study of English as a subject has been undertaken during each of those four years. The candidate must have passed all English courses taken during those four years.
• A score of 500 or higher on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
• Any other evidence of competency in English acceptable to both the College and Senate of the University.
• A candidate who does not meet the minimum required proficiency standard may be provisionally admitted pending successful completion of the Intensive English Programme.
