The Master in Public Policy and Governance at Africa University is a postgraduate course designed to build fundamentals of public policy analysis for practitioners working in civil society organizations, public service, and the private sector. It focuses on public policy as a governance tool for political and institutional development, and it examines how policy formulation and implementation work from public, private, and civil society organizational perspectives.
Learning includes theoretical concepts and practical application in public, private, and non-governmental contexts. The programme runs for 18 months in full time study at the main campus, and it includes a Dissertation as part of the programme structure. Students study modules such as Introduction to Public Policy, Public Policy Analysis, and Architecture of Governance in Africa, alongside policy areas including environmental policy, health policy, governance dynamics, and citizen engagement.
