The Master of Science Degree in Local Governance Studies (MLGS) at Midlands State University builds analytical skills to resolve contemporary local governance service delivery challenges. You study local government administration and management, local government financing, local government human capital management, inclusive service delivery, housing policy and estates management, environmental policy and management in local authorities, leadership, governance and accountability, policy making and governance, and intergovernmental relations.
The programme lasts 18 months and has an actual credit load of 288, with a minimum of 270 and a maximum of 360. It includes a dissertation module (MLGS 832) completed as a supervised research project addressing contemporary problems in the local government field.
