The Master of Commerce Degree in Strategic Brand Management at Midlands State University equips students with applied competencies to formulate and implement brand management strategies. Students develop applied knowledge and competencies in brand management, brand valuation, legal aspects of branding, corporate branding, brand storytelling, brand management analytics, and services branding. The programme also promotes critical thinking in a competitive branding environment.
Teaching and learning uses lectures, tutorials, seminars, group work, industrial visits, work-related learning, and research. Assessment includes written, practical and oral examinations, in-class tests, assignments, presentations, a work-related learning report, and a final year research project report. Students write a formal examination at the end of each quarter, with continuous assessment accounting for 40% and the formal examination accounting for 60%.
