The Master of Science in Agribusiness Systems Management and Development (MASMD) provides advanced study of agribusiness management and development. Students gain knowledge of agricultural systems, business principles, market trends, and agricultural policies, laws, and regulations. The programme also covers sustainable agriculture practices, business planning and decision-making, financial management, marketing and sales, supply chain management and logistics, communication and conflict resolution, data analysis and reporting, and critical thinking.
The degree is offered during weekends, as holiday programmes, and as block release. It runs over 18 months of part-time study, with taught courses arranged in two semesters (12 months) and independent research for one semester (6 months). Assessment uses continuous assessment (40%) and end-of-semester examinations (60%). The advanced research project includes a written dissertation (80%) and presentations (20%), supervised by an approved academic staff member, with a minimum of 40 hours consultation.
